Worsening vision has become one of the most issue of concern for Taiwanese education and healthcare system. High myopia causes visual impairment, which is worrying. Therefore, it is very important goal to slow or even control the progression of myopia in children. Increasing evidence suggests that orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is one of the most effective approaches for slowing the progression of myopia and care behavior affects the effectiveness of myopia control in children's eyes. The objective of the present article was to review the mechanics and clinical applications, care behavior and the suggestion of care practice with wearing orthokeratology for myopic school-age children. It provides practical references for ophthalmic care and school health care. |
