In this study, we synthesized three liquid crystalline monomers (1M~3M) which were further connected with disiloxane and trisiloxane to achieve nine liquid crystal compounds. The chemical structures of the obtained compounds were identified by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Their liquid crystal behavior was characterized by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and optical polarizing microscope. The influences of siloxane groups and space length on liquid crystal phase change, liquid crystal phase transition temperature, and phase temperature range are discussed. |
