I came to Kinmen Island one day later than scheduled, due to foggy weather that caused all flight cancellations leaving out of Taipei. Eventually, I landed safe and sound on the island. My TEEP Program fellows and I were specially welcomed by the staff and students of National Quemoy University (NQU) at the airport. They also helped us get settled into our dormitory rooms. I had the chance to meet the University President Dr. Chien-Min Chen, and his welcoming words made me feel very inspired and happy to be here. I told myself, “Ok, this is your home for the next five months. You’d better enjoy it!”. |
