This article compares the teacher recruitment, enrolment, foreign language policy, educational assessment, teacher professional development, guidance policy, teacher-parents conference, teacher evaluation, and term of the homeroom teacher in elementary schools between Taiwan and United States. The comparison was based on the author's observation who used to be a homeroom teacher in both Taiwan and United States. The author also comments the advantages and shortcomings of the teaching practice in the two different countries. |
