The main purpose of this research is to investigate the gender equity education and the support needs of the teachers who teaching students with hearing impairment in elementary school. A self-developed investigational questionnaire was conducted to 59 hearing impaired special self-contained classroom teachers and school for hearing impaired teachers about their demands for gender equity education. The main findings are summarized as follows: First, there were 72.88% of the teachers who had incorporated gender equity education in teaching activity. Second, the needs of gender equity education were high. Based on the findings of this study, suggestions for the governmental institution of education and teachers were proposed. Guidelines for future studies were also suggested. |
