In recent years, discussions have been held in Historical Society in Japan on how to position the formation from postwar history to modern history. The reason for these discussions is that the methodology of history has changed a lot in the last 30 years, and the environment surrounding history has changed greatly. Another reason may be the death historians carrying "postwar history" and the ongoing generational shift. In this paper, I would like to examine how "national theory" is understood through the study of the history of Japanese classical literature. In recent years, there has been an opinion that the study of Japanese classical literature before the 1990s was absorbed into the "nation-state" We would like to examine its validity. I would like to make it a starting point for future historical research. |
