Infection Control Agter the Outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

由於SARS的衝擊，醫院內感染管制的重要性被突顯到極致，也改變了醫護人員的醫療照護行為;面對SARS流行後可能再次捲土重來的觀察期，除了維持醫療品質外，必須加強接觸病人時的自我防護。而實施隔離措施是阻斷傳播避免感染和再次發生SARS院內群突發的必要手段，防護策略包括養成洗手習慣、依照接觸病人的層級和病房特性適當使用個人防護裝備、訪客和病患服務員的管理、醫療用物的清潔與消毒、布單、本物和醫療廢棄物的處理、以及環境的維護。

Due to the impact of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), infection control in hospitals is more and more important, and has also changed the behavior of medical care facilities and medical personnel. To face probable recurrence in the observational period after the outbreak of SARS, besides maintaining the quality of the medical care, self-protection when coming into contact with a patient must be enforced. However, carring out the precautions of isolation is a necessary means to break the spread nosocomial infection and recurrence of the outbreak of SARS. The strategy of precautions are to develop handwashing habits, according to the degree of contact with the patient and characteristic of the ward, to the appropriate use of personal protection equipment, and also the management of visitors and caregivers. Cleanliness and disinfecting of medical materials and equipment, dealing with the cloth and medical wastes, and maintenance of the environment are also part of this strategy.
