In this research, on the basis of the carrier's perspective, we try to develop a middle-term aircraft maintenance scheduling model, in accordance with the related constraints required in actual operations. The model is formulated as a zero-one integer program solved by using the mathematical programming solver, CPLEX. To evaluate the model in practice, we perform a case study using the real operating data from a major aircraft maintenance hangar in Taiwan. The preliminary results are satisfactory, showing that the model would be a useful planning tool for international aircraft maintenance hangars to decide on their optimal aircraft maintenance plans in the operations. |
