This paper applto Input-output Models to analyze the input-output effects between transportation sector and non-transportation sectors. The data used in this study is the Taiwan's industrial input-output matrix of year 1996. Among the 160 industries shown in input-output matrix, seven industries including railway transport, highway transport, water transport, air transport, transport service, travel service, and warehousing were classified as sub-sectors of transportation sector. The remains were divided into 18 sectors. the results show that, among the sub-sectors of transportation sector, the water transport and the transport service industries have higher inducement effects than the others. This implies that inter-modal of water & land transport is worth promoting. |
