We are working in the Japanese language and literature department of a Taiwanese university, teaching Japanese language and humanities in the fields of literature, history, and social culture in Japanese. Taiwan is also changing its direction to cultivate human resources who can cope with the rapidly advancing advanced information society in line with the movements of other countries around the world, and attempts to incorporate information technology education are currently underway in educational institutions at all levels. Our group has been working on this since 2018, and by 2020, we plan to: 1) hold workshops and study groups to learn about the basics of natural language processing; 2) have speakers related to information processing give lectures and present their research at conferences related to Japanese language education; 3) offer introductory classes for undergraduate foreign language students as university classes; and 4) offer classes on the basics of natural language processing at graduate schools. From the above five directions, our group is attempting to develop contacts with knowledge and information about information science and natural language processing that we have never had any contact with before. In this paper, we would like to introduce each trial of introduction and application that we have carried out so far, and think about future deepening and development. |
