Constructivism, a newly emerged international theory, has been quickly accepted and prosperously developed in China. This article has briefly reviewed the development of constructivism in China and found that a change of current Chinese perception of international relations as well as the continuity of China's reform and openness are two main reasons for a favorable research environment in China. Besides, three factors are also important: (1) Chinese culture is already existed as an inalienable part in its tradition; (2) Marxism has become a basic philosophy for social study in current China, and therefore, provided a well-cultured land for the study of constructivism; (3) constructivism has opened another window for observing this real world. At present time, we hope that Chinese scholars can further their study by the indigenization of theory, by doing more case studies, and by a widespread and balanced laboring. |
