自從1826年第一張照片問世，迄今已屆一百餘年了。到了九十年代時，約有九十五種彩色底片活躍在全世界，以其艷麗、生動的表現，增加了我們很多生活上的情趣，和改進我們工作的品質。然而在真正經典的攝影作品之中，黑白照片永保其不朽的地位，見證了無數人類歷史的里程碑。事實上，無論彩色照片是多麼的明耀動人，黑白照片仍然有其專 屬的領域。例如在沙龍攝影、科學研究和情治工作蒐證方面，將人類 的想像力推展到極限。本研究所探討的主題包括有：1.分析現有的各種黑白底片的特性，2.沖洗情形的研究。研究的對象，均以國內市場中可以覓得的產品為 主，少數特別專業的底片例如X光片等則不在研究範圍之內。

Ever since the first picture was made in 1826 which was B/W film. Now in the beginning of 1990's, more than 95 color films are well involved in our life. However, the authentic beauty of B/W photography is still remained at the bottom of our heart. It is the basic motivation to research B/W film. In fact, no matter how brilliantly the color film is, the B/W film is found vividly not only in general purpose but in scientific, medical, and intellengent fields with impeccable witness of human development which enriches our ultimate imagination.
