This article continues from last month. In this second and final part, we depict the life and thoughts of foreign students here in regards to studying in the 'land of the long white cloud'. Te Pa Pa museum is one of the newest icons of the city; however, the Parliament buildings remain as the prominent landmark. The Prime Minister and all other ministers are situated in the Beehive- an office building designed from the shape of a bee's habitat. The current Prime Minister is Helen Clark, who is also the leader of the Labour Party. There is Asian representation in New Zealand politics. Pansy Wong is our first Asian minister. Although Asian politicians are scarce, I believe our values and ideas are recognised to a certain extent. |
