Based on the fact that the role of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in Taiwan mainly focus on the medical care, the Taiwan Association of Nurses Practitioner (TANP) has begun to promote the recognition system for NP3 since April 2017. The purpose of NP3 recognition is to strengthen the logic of the medical history collection, physical examination, experimental data, image interpretation and differential diagnosis process, as well as to improve the ability to implement evidence-based review and integration by writing a case report. The guidelines of TANP case report follows the world’s top journals as the reference, ensuring our NPs to match the international medical record writing standard. For better applicability on local practice, the context of case report is also adjusted through the consensus of the review committee of our association. In conclusion, the goal of the NP3 recognition is to train the NPs to write a case report with a certain proportion of NPs participation, logical thinking and clinically relevant education.
