Central Asia's position suddenly became important after September 11. The main reason the U.S. entered this area and went on fighting is mainly in-fluenced by energy-oil resources and interests. The stationing of U.S. armed forces has not only elevated the status of Central Asia in international politics, but has also expanded her influence in the Transcaucasian area. In addition, the countries surrounding Central Asia have different views on U.S.'s anti-ter-rorism operations in Afghanistan and on the reconstruction and establishment of the new regime in this region. |
