Due to considerations of national security and political stability, the Chinese Communist Party(CCP) has strengthened political control over the cyber world in order to prevent Chinese internet users from receiving sensitive outside information. Over the past several years, the CCP has passed a number of laws designed to regulate internet users' online activities, has arrested internet users who violated these laws, and has even attempted to build up a Chinese cyber world under the regime's jurisdiction. Since the goal to contain all online information that criticizes the CCP is unlikely to be achieved, the CCP's political control over online public opinion and the circulation of sensitive outside information becomes incomplete. |
