This paper attempts to introduce the present state of discussions about Japanese politics in general. Recently, high quality intellectual periodicals called 'Rondan-shi' tend to take up more diverse topics about Japanese politics than before compared to other new media such as internet journals, which began offering discussions about Japanese politics. Especially, the number of the articles discussing policy issues increase while the number of the articles censured politicians or government decrease. Consequently, discussion reports called 'Rondan-jihyo' selecting important articles edited by newspapers become more important. The tendency is accelerated by tremendous disaster caused by the Tohoku earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011. In this paper, these tendencies are illustrated mainly by marshaling discussions about Fukushima Daiichi disaster. |
