The extraterritorial application of domestic laws is one of the ways that US project its influence extraterritorially thus to maintain the consistence and stability in the law and economy globally for US corporations. The extraterritorial application of US federal and some state labor and employment laws is one such area, the goal is so often achieved through extensive construction of the principle of the presumption against extraterritoriality, applying both the conduct test and effects test and via the trade agreements. The extraterritorial application of US labor and employment laws may exert international influence and make profits and benefits for US and US corporations and facilitate globalization of US laws.
