What Influences the Muslim Immigrants’ Religiosity?

影響移民的宗教信仰的因素為何？移民的宗教信仰會增強、變弱或者不變？本研究從三個理論角度來預測移民的宗教信仰變遷／穩定，但這三個理論產生彼此不一致的預測。以亞洲穆斯林研究在台灣所蒐集的問卷資料──2012-2013 年間調查的367 位男性受訪者樣本──進行分析，我們發現，在諸多可能影響移民宗教性的變項當中，生活情境變項對宗教信仰的影響最為重要；而且，移民生活愈好的信徒，其宗教信仰會變得愈強；反之，生活處境較差的人宗教信仰會轉弱。

What will happen to immigrants’ religious belief? Will their religious belief become stronger, weaker or stay the same? Three perspectives may be employed to predict its change/stability, though the predictions are not always consistent. Using data of the Asian Muslim Studies on Immigrant Muslims in Taiwan, collected from 2012 to 2013 with a sample size of 367 males, we found that, among others, life situation variables have the most important impacts on the immigrants’ religious belief and the immigrants’ belief is heightened mainly among better-offs, but not among worse-offs.
