This paper analyzes the legal issues and procedural aspects of the civil case, “The Civil Ruling on the Affirmation of Ownership in the case of Kuo, Zheng, and Han” (Civil Case No: 00012), decided on April 23, 2014 by the Jilin Province Changchun City Intermediate People’s Court. The procedural analysis of this case discusses the establishment of the litigating party’s standing standards, categories of joint litigants, and a review of issues subject to retrial. The legal analysis of this case discusses property law conduct theories by referencing the Draft Common Frame of Reference (DCFR) for European Private Law and other civil law countries’ legislative examples in effort to provide different perspectives to this case.
