The teacher’s emotion usually affects the proceeding of teaching activities. However, if teacher understands how to manage their own emotion, it will help promote the effectiveness of teaching. The main purpose of this study was to develop the Emotional Management Scale (EMS) for married female elementary school teachers. The present study included the two phases: pretest and test. 210 and 602 teachers were selected for the pretest and the test, respectively. After the data collection from the pretest exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. Three factors including “emotional awareness”, “emotional expression”, “emotional regulation” were extracted. The internal consistency of the Cronbachs alpha of the EMS were .86, .84, .90, and .91 for total score. This shows the EMS has good reliability. The confirmatory factor analysis and cross-validation were conducted to the test and the results discover that the EMS has good construct validity and good reliability. Finally, suggestions for practical applications and future research are provided. |
