In the recent years, the concept of“acquiring knowledge from mangas'' has drawn a lot of attention in Japan. Cartoonist Satonaka Matiko once said that in a way all the Japanese mangas are“educational mangas''. Thus, the author of this study expects to use mangas as materials for intercultural communication and education. Based on this ideal, this study aims to study Japanese cooking mangas and analyzed their story types. Considering the career formation of the Japanese-major students, this study focuses on the so-called professionals. By analyzing the story types and identifying the images of professionals in these mangas along with their characteristics, this study further explores the images of professionals in Japanese people's minds. It is hoped that the analysis results of this study can help to shed light on the professionalism of professionals in the technical and psychological aspects and be beneficial to the intercultural understanding between Taiwan and Japan. Moreover, how to associate the research findings with teaching practices will be an issue to be further discussed in the future. |
