In Japanese teaching, “たり''is used to give examples and implications, and is usually introduced in the class instruction with the basic form of “ … たり… たりする.''Although the form of “ たりする''is also accepted, the form “ たり''without a following “ する''is still not considered a well-formed sentence. However, the aforementioned ill-formed usages still occur quite frequently in real-life daily conversations. That is, there are many cases of using the form “ たり''without a following “ する.''This study aims to investigate the frequency, usages and the connecting forms of the ill-formed “ たり''that is found in the real-life conversations. An analysis on the collected data shows that there are quite a few cases of using the form “ た り''without a following “ する.''In addition to “ す る,''there are cases of using grammatical markers such as “ と か''and “ という''following the form “ たり.''And there are even more cases of using “ たり''alone. |
