This study aimed to explore the current status of business Japanese related courses offered by Departments of Applied Japanese of universities in Taiwan and analyze characteristics of those courses to further discuss which contents shall be included in teaching of business Japanese for Departments of Applied Japanese and corresponding educational objectives. According to the results of the survey, the number of business Japanese related courses offered by Departments of Applied Japanese has been increasing, and there have been courses of various titles, mostly related to oral communication. In the aspect of content, the focus of learning is on business conversations, business documents, and business etiquettes.According to the results of the analyses from the viewpoints of corporate needs, cross-cultural communication, and learners' background, in order to cultivate talents with the ability to integrate business Japanese, besides ''business Japanese ability'' of the language skill aspect, factors such as ''understanding of cultures in Japanese job fields'' and ''career support and guidance'' must also be considered. |
