This essay is mainly discussing the interactive relation between“Itadura” and “Bottyan”. Concerning “Itadura”, Siga mentioned that thisfiction had been adapted from the real experience of his friend, HoeiNojiri. In comparison with Nojiri’s memoirs, Siga’s work was indeedcreated, basing on Nojiri’s experience. There is more than one influence on “Itadura”, however. It’s veryobvious for the name of Natsume’s “Bottyan” was indicated in “Itadura”.In fact, there are many elements of fiction, which appeared in Natsume’s“Bottyan” also reflected in Siga’s “Itadura” directly or indirectly. Buthardly can we find out a fact that he never mentioned Natsume’s“Bottyan” when looking over Siga’s statement afterward. What’s Siga’smotive? How did Natsume’s “Bottyan” affect Siga’s “Itadura”? Besides, why was this fiction omitted in Siga’s statement intentionally? To interpret these two works, poring over textbooks is the best wayto study. Only through the “Soseki” element presented in Siga’s fictionscan we find out the essential doubts existing in Siga and Natsume’swriting methods. |
