《今昔物語集》卷三十一〈通四國邊地僧行不知所被打成馬語第十四〉,敘述一則發生於四國山中偏僻之境人被化成馬的故事。三個迷徒的修行者前往一處民宅求助,其中兩人被侍奉屋主的法師鞭打、脫衣後化為馬形,另外一人在屋主的妻子協助下逃離。幸運逃出的修行者違背與妻子的約定,將事情洩漏出去。村裡的年輕人聽到傳聞後,憤慨地欲至山裡討伐惡人,卻因不知前往的路徑無功而返。本文當中人變馬的「變身」元素,源自《太平廣記》的〈板橋三娘子〉。然而,第十四話與〈板橋三娘子〉、甚至其他印度及中國的相關作品對照之下,除了「變身」之外未見其他共通處,卻與同卷同一話群中排列相近的作品之間存在著更多相同的元素,例如「迷路」、「提供食物」、「毀約與復仇」等。本文以卷三十一的第十四話為主,對照第十四話與配置於前後的作品,比較分析其間之共通元素,探討編者編輯異國話時所使用的手法。 “Konjyaku Monogatarisyu”Volume 31 Issue 14 describes how a magician turned his visitors into horses on a remote mountain of Shikoku. The other one luckily fled with the help of house owner's wife. This lucky gymnosophist broke commitment with the woman and disclosed the secret. Young people who heard the rumor angrily going to the mountain in hopes of arresting the homeowner and the magician, but eventually they lost way and failed. In this article have proved the shape-shifting element can be traced back to 'Banqiao Sanniangzi' of“Taiping Guangji”. However, the two stories only share the shape-shifting element as their similarity. Lost way, food supply, break promise and revenge, those occur on the“Konjyaku Monogatarisyu”can be seen persistently on the other issues. This research is based on the“Konjyaku Monogatarisyu”Volume 31 Issue 14, parallel with that works before and after it. Comparing and analyzing their common elements, and discussing the techniques used by editors in the alien setsuwa. |
