The Triton satellite is a meteorological remote sensing satellite independently developed by the National Space Organization (NSPO). It will perform remote sensing from reflected GNSS signal (or GNSS reflectometry) and verify 10 key satellite components and technologies developed in Taiwan. The satellite self-made rate for the entire system exceeds 88%. In 2018, the manufacturing and environmental verification of key components such as mission payload, fiber optic gyroscope, and hydrogen peroxide, propulsion module were performed continuously. For the satellite integration and test, NSPO completed the first comprehensive performance test (CPT) and two satellite-to-ground system end-to-end tests. The Triton satellite is expected to be ready for launch in 2021. |
