Purpose: The study aimed at investigating different market available saddle to male and female’s lower limb muscle activation and personal perception. Methods: The study recruited six male college students as participants (mean height: 175.12±2.44cm, weight: 70.24±5.54, age: 20.6±1 year-old) and six female college students (mean height: 160.13±5.26 cm, weight: 55.32±3.24, age:21.3±1 year-old). None of any participants suffered from neuromuscular injuries in lower limb in the past six months. The electromyography was instrumented to access lower limb muscle activation (Vastus medialis, Vastus lateralis , Rectus femoris, Biceps femoris, Tibialis anterior, Gastrocnemius) of riding two saddles with different width(male: 143mm, female: 155mm), the PRE was utilized to access the comfort of different saddles. The significant level was set as α=.05. Results: No significant difference was observed between two saddles and PRE measurement. Conclusion: Market available saddle were not able to enhance cycling efficacy and comfort. |
