打造同志家庭：女同志家長如何協助子女建立家庭認同

Constructing the Same-Sex Family: How Lesbian Mothers Help Their Children Build Family Identities

本研究探討女同志家長如何在不利的社會處境中，透過親職實作協助子女理解家庭組成，建立自我肯認及家庭認同，並且應對外界的異樣眼光。筆者訪談23位女同志家長，針對訪談資料進行分析，有以下幾點發現。首先，女同志家長本身的身分認同是同志家庭認同的關鍵，家長必須有堅定的認同，在日常生活中以言教和身教，成為子女的學習楷模，並且透過各種教育方式，提供子女正確的知識，進而建立自我肯認及家庭認同。其次，繼親家長在家庭中需要有明確的定位，以利協助子女建立對家庭的認同。再者，是否對外揭露同志家庭的資訊，各個家庭在考慮子女的福祉下，採取不同策略。此外，在目前法律保障不足，社會環境對於同志家庭及子女仍然不夠友善的情形下，同志家庭社群發揮了提供家長生育及教養資訊、情感支持，同時給予子女人際支援網絡的功能。本研究最後並根據研究結果，對於女同志家長、公共政策及未來相關研究方向提出建議。

The study tries to explore how lesbian parents help their children build family identities while living in a society which is still not entirely friendly to same-sex families. Through interviewing 23 lesbian parents, the author has found that lesbian parents' self-identities are essential for helping their children build self and family identities. For lesbian stepparents, it is important to establish clear roles in order to help the children build their family identity. Further, lesbian parents have concerns for the welfare of the children in deciding whether to come out publicly as a same-sex family or not, and their decisions on this may vary. Last, most lesbian parents join same-sex parents' communities, which not only support lesbian parents, but also their children. Following on these findings, recommendations are made as to how lesbian parents can help their children build family identities; public policy and future studies are suggested.
