Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm, characterized by solid, cystic and pseudopapillary growth pattern tumor with positive immunohistochemical staining of ß-catenin, but negative staining of E-cadherin, represents 1-3% of all pancreatic tumors and is of low malignant potential with better clinical outcomes, but it is extremely rarely found outside the pancreas. In the English literature review, only a few cases of extra-pancreatic solid pseudopapillary neoplasm have been reported before. Herein, we reported a 37-year-old woman who was diagnosed of solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the ovary after laparoscopic salpingo-oophorectomy. Postoperative course and follow-up period was uneventful. Due to the rarity, we discuss this unusual disease-solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the ovary. |
