The right of privacy is a kind of personality right, including having the right to keep one's own one peace of mind. It does not allow personal photo, undertaking, successful experience, etc. to be propagated and pursued beyond private ends. In Taiwan, literature on the right of privacy lack systematic and completed analysis. This article applies the methodology of Walker and Avant to analyze the concept of privacy rights .Steps include a review of the literature on conceptual definitions of privacy rights, determining the defining attributes of privacy right, model construction, defining parameters and related cases, and identifying antecedents and consequences. Once completed, empirical references of privacy rights were explored. The authors hope that this analysis can assist nursing stuff to gain a better understanding of privacy concepts in order to apply knowledge gained to clinical practice. As such, nursing stuff will be able to apply the concept of privacy and recognize situations when patients’ privacy rights need to be protected. |
