During Chiang Ching-Kuo period political democratization, social pluralism, economic liberalization, and highly educated and economic autonomic women have become the trend of the times. Socio-cultural awareness is gradually reflected in texts such as popular lyrics. They interact with men on an equal basis, are rational, strong, alienated from utilitarian love. Women are no longer in a position of ''waiting'' and ''committing to sacrifice'' like traditional women, and they no longer take the ''integrity of love'' as a unilateral responsibility, but gradually have the rational and emotional qualities inherent in independent individuals. The general public also accepts such these changes. Therefore, in the 1970s and before, the lyrics in Taiwanese language used to describe the feelings of women's love were always euphemistic and subtle. However, the popular lyrics of Taiwanese love during Chiang Ching-Kuo 's administration were expressive. |
