S-R Contingency and Visual-Detection Threshold

This paper is concerned with the comparison of the S-R contingent method and the S-R noncontingent method in measuring detection threshold of visual sense modality. The hypothesis is that thd detection threshold obtained by the technique of the S-R contingency is more or less stable in comparison with that obtained by the S-R noncontingent method. This study can not find out any significant difference between the detection thresholds obtained under these two conditions. Besides, this paper also attempts to test the hypothesis that stimulus with short duration is superior to stimulus with long duration in determining detection threshold. The result of this investigation also can not find out any significant difference between these two conditions.
