Much has been said about the Bender-Gestalt test figure rotation. Explanatory hypotheses were made both from neurological and psychological view points by Shapiro and Hutt respectively(12,9). Hanna tackled the same problem from a different angle and pointed out the influence of the stimulus factor in the production of figure rotation(6). His proposition was tested and confirmed by Griffith et al.(5). The relationship between the Bender-Gestalt figure rotation and EEG abnormalities and the incidence of figure rotation in clinical groups has been studied in order to increase the diagnostic value of the Bender-Gestalt test figure rotaion in the patients with brain lesions(3,4). KO's previous study has enabled him to propose another possible explanatory hypothesis(10). In explaining the fact that there is, in small children, a higher percentage of subject having figure rotation, KO wrote that it was probably because their concept of space is not so well developed as that of the children a couple of years their senior. |
