B. Vauquois has been one of the foremost researchers in MT from 1960 until his death in October, 1985. His contribution to the field is presented, as well as the evolution of his ideas, which have influenced the design and construction of several MT systems, in France and abroad. The paper tries also to generalize and offer some general insight into some known traps and illusions encountered when building MT systems. |
