Rhabditis sp. was the major species found in the compost and casing soil in the closed type of PE-mushroom house. The nematode population increased greatly at the harvesting stage. Aphelenchoides composticola is a mycophagous nematode frequently found in the mushroom compost in Taiwan. It did not reproduce in the sterilized compost and soil. Neither did it in the media containing any of the several weed fungi isolated form the mushroom bed. |
