The reproduction of the nematode Rhabditis sp. was best at 25℃ less so at 28℃ and 30℃. Little or no reproduction was observed at 15℃ and 33℃. while a higher population was occurred in the compost after 10 days or 40 days of inoculation at 25℃. The initial number of the nematode in inocula, 5 to 1000, did not affect the population reached after 10 days of cultivation. The mortality rate of Rhabditis sp. was 1.35 to 4.44% after 6 days at 5℃ to 28℃ and 100% at 0 and 40℃. The mycelial growth of mushroom in the compost, at 25℃ was very poor when Rhabditis sp. and mushroom mycelium were inoculated at the same time. However, the growth of mushroom mycelium in the compost, corn compost agar or corn compost solution was not affected if Rhabditis sp. was inoculated after the mushroom mycelium had started growing for several days. |
