The experiment is to find out the utilization of wastewater sludge for agricultural production. The trial was carried out in field with sandy loam and in pot culture with loamy sand soil respectively. The analysis on the soil fertility and the statistical analysis of root and leaves of radish revealed that: (1) The sludge applied in cropcultivation could improve the fertility of soil, increased the amount of organic matter, total nitrogen, as well as available phosphorus and potassium; Besides, the pH value showed stable, and the soil texture remained unchanged during the experiments. (2) The relationship between the yield of radish and the amount of sludge applied was positive significant; The more the sludge applied, the higher the yields of radish under the experiment. The application of sludge was also favorable for the vegetative production. (3) An optimun quantity of sludge applied to the crop cultivation depends on fertility and texture of soil and different crops. A proper combination of sludge and application of fertilizers for a certain crop is to be studied. |
