Interspecific Hybridization in Genus Allium (Ⅲ) Cross Compatibility of Chinese Chive, Japanese Bunching Onion and Onion

蔥與洋蔥相互雜交之親和力極高，花粉管在花柱內之生長均極正常。韮菜為雄親與蔥及洋蔥雜交有不親和現象，花粉管雖能伸入，但生長速度緩慢。自交之花粉管仲長速度較快，花粉管數目較多；不親和者，則發現花粉管有扭曲或停止生長現象。

Cross compatibility was very high between onion and Japanese bunching onion as well as pollen tube growth which was not affected by each other after crossing. Chinese chive used as male parent showed some incompatibility when crossed to onion and Japanese bunching onion, which required longer time for pollen tube to penetrate entire style. In selfing flowers. pollen tube grew faster and had more tubes in style. Pollen tube growth can be inhibited or lack in polarity in the incompatible style.
