The size and/or color of floral parts, i.e., style, pedicel, petal and sepal, in carambola (Averrhoa carambola L.) varied with different cultivars or selection linen. The structure of the floral parts may be modified by climate factors. These cultivars or selection lines could be divided into long style type and short-style type based on their stylar length. The inflorescence, a panicle of cyme, was generally derived from axillary parts of current shoots or from latent buds of stems or wood. Each flower bloomed during the daytime and wilted during the night of the same day. The extent of flower opening decreased in the winter. |
