夜來香切花品系之選育

Breeding of Tuberose for Cut Flower

夜來香（Polianthes tuberosa L.），為本省重要切花，目前主要經濟栽培品種，僅有單瓣及重瓣品種，由於品種少，花型、花色變化少，使得夜來香雖有高產及具純白且芳香之花朵等優良特性，但在生產及利用上，仍然受到限制。本試驗以選育出之優良品系及自美國引進之polianthes X howardii、polianthes X blissii雜交品種與本省常年栽培之單瓣、重瓣品種進行品系、品種比較試驗，並調查其花莖長、花序長、花蕾數、花莖寬度、花被瓣數，花瓣寬度、外花被顏色、切花產量及花期等園藝性狀。根據主要性狀，選育出六個單瓣品種（系），polianthes X howardii、polianthes X blissii、83-1.2-B8、83-2.1-D8、87-A3、88-A5及一個重瓣品種83-1.2-B3等。

Tuberose is one of the most important cut flowers in Taiwan. There are only two major cultivars- 'Single' and 'Double' cultivated for commercial production. Tuberose has the good characters with high yield of cut flower, pure white and fragrance of flower. However, because the little variation of flower shape, size and color, there are still some limits of cultivation and utilization of tuberose. Several superior clones selected from hybrid progenies, two hybrids (Polianthes X howardii and P. X blissii) introduced from U.S. and local varities ('Single' and 'Double') were collected for advanced evaluation trials. According to the objectives of breeding program, six clones of single-flowered type, and one selected clones of double-flowered type with better characters were compared.
