蘋果砧木之特性及繁殖（第一報）

Preliminary Report on the Varietal Characteristics and Propagation of the Apple Rootstocks

13個蘋果砧木品種於1973年元月自西德引入後，在臺北市臺灣大學園藝分場進行嫁接及繁殖試驗，在用圓葉海棠砧木下，經第一年的觀察結果摘要如下：1.各品種葉片的特徵，如大小、形狀、色澤、邊緣鋸齒、托葉、毛茸以及抗病、抗蟲力如何，均可作品種鑑別上的依據。2.莖部特徵，如節間長短，表皮色澤、皮目多少、枝梢部毛茸有無、側芽外形以及近嫁接處瘤狀突起的有無等也可作分類的參考。3.蘋果砧木品種在用圓葉海棠砧嫁接繁殖上，除MIV及MM109的接穗癒合困難，成活率較低外，其餘均成活容易。但這些砧木品種，應用何種方法使其發生新根成為一株單獨的砧木，仍待進一步的試驗。4.本試驗將在1973年冬移植山區，作進一步的觀察。

Cuttings of 13 apple rootstock varieties were introduced from West Germany in January 1973 and were grafted onto Round-leaf Haitang (Malus prunifolia var. ringo) for propagation trial at the Horticultural Experimental Farm, National Taiwan University, Taipei. Leaf and stem characteristics of the introduced root stock varieties were recorded for varietal identification. First year's growth was also investigated. The suitable methods for rooting of these newly introduced rootstocks have been studied. Materials of these rootstocks will be transplanted to the Highland Farm, National Taiwan University for further investigation in the winter of 1973～1974.
