The effect of the climatic conditions after asparagus planting on the survival of the plants were studied. The experiment was conducted in northern Taiwan where the underground water level was relatively high. The results showed that higher percentage of survived plants was obtained in a week of fine weather with occasional shower after planting than a period of contiauous cloudy and rainy days with high precipitation. It has been observed that under rainy condition higher percentage of plants survival was obtained by using larger sesdlings and shallower planting as compared to that of smaller seedlings in deeper planting. |
