越南漢喃文化院現存的《西洋耶蘇秘籙》為一部謗教色彩濃厚的漢文小說。書中以耶穌生平事蹟和教會發展的演變情形，作為小說內容的故事主線；再將基督信仰在越南的傳教歷程，和小說作者的創作意識和寫作理念融入貫穿全書，呈現宣教與謗教兼具的宗教理念。透過此部越南漢文小說，可以看到越南對於基督信仰的容受與排斥情形，不僅是國家民族大義下的意識型態之反映，也是漢儒影響下的文化認知之呈現。藉由小說作者對於宗教題材的引用和謬誤，對於史料事例上的實寫與虛構，看出宗教、歷史與文學三者之間的微妙關係。

Its main storyline is focused on Jesus Christ's life and the development of churches. It also covers the missionizing situation in Vietnam. The novel presents quite complex religious features and cultural awareness because of the author's writing motivation and discussing religious belief. Through ＂Tay Duong Gia To Bi Luc,＂ it's clear to observe the close relationship among religion, history and literature. For in this novel, the author quoted religious materials, showed distortions, and applied realist writing techniques. The book demonstrated the acceptance and rejection of Christian belief in Vietnam. Both not only reflected the consciousness model under nationalism but also represented cultural awareness under Confucian influence.
