1947年中山大學法學院學潮──薩孟武與廣東政局

The 1947 Protest Movement in the Law School of National Sun Yat-sen University: Sa Mengwu and the Political Predicament in Canton

1947年中山大學法學院學潮中蘊含的深層結構變動，是促使時任院長的薩孟武（1897－1984）離開的一個重要原因。張發奎（1896－1980）曾費心建構的穩定局面已然結構性失衡，中山大學愈趨是非之地；而代院長梅龔彬（1900－1975）離開中大，雖然對薩孟武來說鞏固了領導權，但由於梅氏只算是中間偏左而非中共直屬人員，教育部將其解聘，客觀上反而促使法學院內部的劇烈爭鬥日益白熱化。這內、外二重因素，使薩孟武認識到未來時局變化可能給中大帶來的更大的「漣漪」與「波濤」，而其並不具備強有力的控制與干預能力。薩孟武平息了1947年的法學院學潮，但也認識到自己已無法完成1946年朱家驊提議他出任中大法學院院長時可能寄託的那份「制衡」大任。

This paper elucidates the origins of Sa Mengwu's departure in 1948 against the backdrop of the Law School unrest and the political situation in Canton. While relatively stable under the authority of Chang Fa-Kuei, Cantonese politics rapidly descended into chaos after 1946, a development which also impacted academic circles and is reflected in the dismissal of Mei Gongbin by the ministry of education. Such intrinsic and extrinsic factors exacerbated factional struggles, leading Sa to capitulate despite his successful quelling of 1947's upheaval.
