Masafusa Oe (1041-1111) is the representative of literati in the later stage of ancient Japan. “Sikyoki”, modeled on Wang Ji's “Zui Xiang Ji” (Records in a Drunken Stupor), talks about writing poems. Wang is a Chinese scholar in the early years of the Tang Dynasty. Though it's very brief, the book records and narrates the development of the history of Chinese poetry: from the Book of Songs to the poets of the Tang Dynasty. Through this book, we try to understand the influence of Chinese literature to Japan. |
