The flexural behavior of CFT beam-columns under constant axial load has been simulated numerically in this study. Adequate constitutive laws for steel and concrete have both been employed in nonlinear fiber analyses of CFT cross-sections. Through careful adjustment of three variables, i.e. the concrete confinement factor, steel buckling strain and steel buckling modulus ratio, good moment-curvature relationships for CFT beam-columns of various tube shapes and width-to-thickness ratios could be attained. The moment capacity and post-buckling behavior of CFT beam-columns could be well predicted. |
