The seed of Lilium speciosum Thunb. var. gloriosoides was brown in color, ellipse in shape. The seed was 7.9 mm in length, 4.9 mm in width, and 0.27 mm in thickness. The weight of a group of 1000 seeds was 3.11 g. The seed coat was papery and there were endosperm and linear embryo inside. The length of the embryo was 5 mm and the width was 0.3 mm. The seeds germinated in petri dishes in the growth chamber at 15℃, and the radicle broke through the seed coat one week after being sown. The potential of germination could remain three weeks in the range of temperature from 15 to 20 , ℃ ℃ and the germination rates were 50.7% and 12%. Germination was completely inhibited at a high temperature, from 25℃ to 30℃. Three weeks after the seeds were sown in the greenhouse, the hook of the cotyledon grew out of the soil.
