A Taiwan-Canada collaborative pseudo-dynamic experiment of a four-pier bridge system is being conducted. Three testing pier specimens are located at Carleton University(CU), National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering(NCREE), and National Taiwan University(NTU), respectively. The fourth pier and the bridge decks are numerical simulated by finite element models. A platform named ISEE(Internet-based Simulation for Earthquake Engineering) is employed for the data repository and communication among laboratories. The specimen design has been completed and two of the specimens are almost completed. The collaborative experiment is scheduled on March, 2005. |
