The purpose of this paper is to investigate the local site effects and their influence in the ground shaking and, then, provide microzonation maps those can be applied in the structural design for earthquake engineering practices. Based on the attenuation law, which was modified by the records of selected reference sites to eliminate the source and path effects by events, the site effect of each TSMIP station was discussed in terms of an amplification factor to the reference sites(hard sites). Records collected from twenty earthquake events with magnitude greater than ML5.5 were used in the site-effect analyses for Taipei basin and Ilan plane. Both the PGAs and spectral accelerations were studied. The microzonation maps were estimated by statistical analysis of the amplification factor for each instrumental site of the Ilan plane and Taipei basin. |
